After discussion at the first ABE workshop in Summer 2004, the participating faculty identified the following three relevant research experiences for themselves and their students:
Accordingly, the 2005 Summer workshop included one week for basic molecular techniques; T-DNA mapping of pdi knockout mutants, and immuno-detection of PDI proteins via fluorescence and electron microscopy. These hands-on exercises and modules have been posted at the ABE website for broader dissemination. Other digital formats (CD-ROM, lab manuals) will be developed and made available to students and faculty as a source of reference.
